Matt grew up the son of a general contractor. While he didn’t share in his father’s love of the building side of contracting, he did love the big machines. After high school graduation in 1996, Matt went to work for a church friend in the landscaping business. After six years working for various landscape construction companies, he started Hamilton Landscape Co., which transformed into Outdoor Inc., in 2008. The goal was to be a company that could handle all earthwork and landscape construction needs for projects as the two scopes have much overlap and coincide in a way that is complimentary to one another. 21 years later, Outdoor Inc., is a full-service landscape construction, excavation, and grading company with the capacity to handle projects of all scopes and sizes.
Having worked in the field for over 18 years, he has worked with many business consultants, landscape & grading industry specific experts and consultants, and has been blessed to have mentors (who also have their own businesses to run), that advise and guide him along the way. These relationships have been invaluable to Matt, having gained an abundance of knowledge and experience, while also failing fast and often, he learned, and is constantly learning more, about all the best methods of executing construction projects.
Matt’s role at Outdoor Inc is to constantly be encouraging and stewarding a vision of a company that provides a platform for committed, critical thinkers to grow and flourish in a healthy team-minded environment with a foundation centered on Christ. However, day-to-day, Matt works with Sales Project Managers and Field Project Managers to problem solve and deliver solutions to, and for, our amazing clientele that have entrusted us to help complete their visions, whether to enjoy for years to come or bring functionality and ease to their spaces.
Matt has a wonderful wife, Kristi, and three amazing daughters! His faith is of the upmost importance to he and his family, being active members of their Wayside Presbyterian Church family! So, when Matt is not leading the Outdoor Inc team, he is typically with his family on their farm and enjoys spending his free time gardening and learning the art of animal husbandry to be able to produce tasty, healthy food!
